Summer Adventures

Dear Friends,
I love hearing of your summer adventures even if they include staying close to home and enjoying your garden and all the summer delights right here. I attended Shakespeare on the Sound last week and was delighted by the families with young children in various states of attention. I kept thinking about all the kinds of things that nourish our souls. The language of the Bard feeds something deep in the soul the way that excellent music does. Rob told me that he took John River to see Shakespeare the other night and that six-year old boy was glued to the show for the full two hours!
As we are making our way though the letter to the Romans in Sunday sermons and Monday Bible studies, we realize that Paul is offering the deepest kind of nourishment for the soul—a kind of teaching that leads to “eternal life.” No doubt he was referring more to a quality of life than a quantity, but I want explore this further and see if, as a community, we are offering one another what we deeply need to experience that eternal quality of life together.
I believe that we are, and that we can do it even better. Come join us for summer worship. Remember, we begin on Sunday mornings at 9:30 through the summer.
One of the best things of my week is to see your face Sunday morning and then hear us all as we raise the roof with our singing and then taste together the sweetness of our communion with one another. See you Sunday!
