Mich Minister The Rev. Michael Zeman

After graduating from the University of Nebraska with majors in philosophy and history, Mich and his wife, Mary, moved to Kenya where they helped run a mission station in the remote Northern Frontier District. Learning the language and working closely with indigenous people Mich built an orphanage and managed water projects along with teaching literacy. Returning to America, he took a position as a middle school teacher and director of an on-site teacher training program for the University, while completing a Masters degree in curriculum and instruction.

In 1979 he moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he earned a Masters of Divinity degree from the Yale Divinity School, during which time he served as Director of the International Student Center, and worked as Teaching Assistant to Prof. Henri Nouwen.

After seminary he served as the Associate Minister at Norfield Church in Weston, CT, while completing his training as a Psychoanalyst at the Westchester Institute.

When he came to Talmadge Hill Church in 1995 he brought a vision and a passion for creating a diverse, welcoming thoughtful community that is making a difference in our world.
